Microsoft 365 setup and migration
Moving business email needs a plan for people, data and the domain records that route messages. Seven Creative helps scope Microsoft 365 setup and migration so the change is understood before existing services are altered.
Who this is for
This is for businesses moving from another mail provider, consolidating accounts or setting up a new Microsoft 365 environment. A migration may involve mail, contacts, calendars and device configuration, but the available methods depend on the source system and access.
Scope and deliverables
Account and licence requirements; source mailbox review; data and folder scope; shared addresses; domain verification; DNS planning; user communication; and the agreed post-move checks. Archives, unusually large mailboxes and unsupported source systems need attention early. The proposal should state what is moving and what remains outside the migration.
How the work is approached
We identify the existing setup and prepare an agreed sequence. Access and licence prerequisites are checked before transfer work begins. A suitable migration method and timing are selected with the business, then users receive instructions about what to expect. Old services are retained until the agreed checks and retention decisions have been completed.
What this helps you do
Planning reduces uncertainty and makes it easier to spot missing information before a cutover. It also gives users a clear route for configuration questions. A migration cannot be described as universally disruption-free, and no guaranteed transfer time is promised without reviewing the actual systems and data.
Will every email, calendar and contact transfer automatically?
Not necessarily. Compatibility, permissions, source formats and the chosen method affect what can be moved. We establish the intended data scope and explain known limitations before work is agreed. Backup and retention arrangements also need discussion; a move to a new service is not by itself a complete data-protection plan.
